We are extremely grateful to Tollifson Cable Services who installed a 120′ water supply line and irrigation system for us. Wow! What an incredible gift for the garden!

Cooking up the vegetables we harvested from our Community Garden plot

It all began with a fridge drawer full of beets and potatoes and some bags of frozen carrots.

With the help of Corina Riley, the chef from the Little Red Market Café, we washed and chopped and diced…

We documented our work in our Little Green Thumbs journals.

Then we feasted on carrot soup, and roasted potatoes and beets! For many students this was the first time they had eaten a beet. The consensus was: Delicious!

On travaille avec les carottes

We harvested a lot of carrots during our fieldtrip to our community garden plot last week. Today we sketched and wrote about harvesting carrots. Then we washed and prepared them for freezing. We are going to work with a local chef to turn our harvest into a delicious meal in the near future.
